Service and Spare Parts

Spare parts and service for transformer oil filtration machines, vacuum systems, drying plants and control panels. Parts from the manufacturer, with technical support.

Quick answer

TOFM supplies spare parts for transformer oil filtration machines and vacuum systems: micron filter cartridges, bag filters, oil heaters, vacuum pumps (single stage, double stage, booster and belt driven) with their spares, and control panels. TOFM also provides installation, maintenance and breakdown support.

What service does TOFM provide?

Installation and commissioning

Support to set up, start and hand over TOFM equipment at your site, in India and export markets.

Preventive maintenance

Scheduled checks and servicing of filtration machines, vacuum pumps, heaters and control panels.

Breakdown support and repair

Technical support to find and fix faults, with replacement parts from TOFM.

Spare parts supply

Filters, heaters, vacuum pumps and pump spares, control panels and panel components.

Micron filter cartridges

Filter cartridges for transformer, lube and hydraulic oil filtration machines

Fine filter cartridges remove the small particles that lower the dielectric strength of transformer oil and wear hydraulic and lube oil systems. Replace them when the pressure drop across the filter housing rises or at the interval set for your machine.

Ratings0.5, 1, 3, 5, 10 and 25 micron Typical
TypesPleated, wound and melt-blown cartridges Typical

Bag filters

Filter bags and housings for coarse and pre-filtration

Bag filters catch sludge and larger particles before the oil reaches the fine cartridges, which extends cartridge life. TOFM supplies replacement bags and complete bag filter housings.

Ratings1 to 100 micron Typical
MaterialsPolypropylene, polyester felt and nylon mesh Typical
SizesSize 1 and size 2 bags, or as per housing Typical
Supplied asReplacement bags or complete housings

Heaters for transformer oil filtration

Low watt density immersion heaters for oil

Oil heaters warm the oil to the process temperature so water and gases leave it in the vacuum chamber. Heaters for transformer oil use a low watt density, so the oil heats evenly without local overheating or carbon build-up.

TypeTubular immersion heaters and heater banks
SheathStainless steel or Incoloy Typical
TemperatureOil controlled up to 65 °C; heater range ambient up to 150 °C
RatingAs per machine capacity

Vacuum pumps and spares

Vacuum pumps for oil filtration machines, vacuum drying plants and vacuum systems, plus the spares that keep them running.

Representative image: Single stage vacuum pump

Single stage vacuum pump

Oil-sealed rotary vane pump for roughing and general vacuum duty. Simple, robust and economical.

Ultimate vacuum typically 0.1 to 0.5 mbar Typical
Representative image: Double stage vacuum pump

Double stage vacuum pump

Two rotary vane stages in series for deeper vacuum, used where oil must reach very low moisture and gas levels.

Ultimate vacuum typically 0.001 to 0.01 mbar Typical
Representative image: Booster (Roots) pump

Booster (Roots) pump

A mechanical booster mounted ahead of a rotary pump. It raises pumping speed at low pressure, so large plants reach high vacuum faster.

Used with a backing pump on larger plants
Representative image: Belt driven vacuum pump

Belt driven vacuum pump

Heavy-duty pump driven by V-belts at lower speed. Common on older and large oil filtration and drying plants, and easy to maintain.

Rugged, long-life duty

FAQ

Service and spares questions

Which spare parts does TOFM supply?

TOFM supplies micron filter cartridges, bag filters, heaters for transformer oil filtration, vacuum pumps (single stage, double stage, booster and belt driven) and their spares, and control panels and panel components.

What is the difference between a single stage and a double stage vacuum pump?

A single stage rotary vane pump has one pumping stage and suits roughing and general duty. A double stage pump has two stages in series and reaches a deeper vacuum, which helps dry and degas transformer oil to low levels.

Why do large oil filtration plants use a booster pump?

A booster (Roots) pump sits ahead of the rotary pump and raises pumping speed at low pressure. Large plants reach high vacuum faster and hold it under heavy gas and water load.

How often should micron filter cartridges be replaced?

Replace them when the pressure drop across the filter housing rises above the limit for your machine, or at the interval in the machine manual. Very dirty oil fills cartridges faster, so a bag filter ahead of them helps.

Can TOFM supply spares for machines from other manufacturers?

Often, yes. Share the machine make, model and a photo or drawing of the part, and TOFM will confirm compatibility before quoting.
